FEA on an Aircraft Wing:
A uniform tubular spar approximates the structural dynamic model of a wing. The vertical bending of the spar is of interest in this problem.
Wing assumed properties:
- Young's Modulus E = 69 GPa
- Area = 0.06 m2 , Radius = 138.2 mm
- Length = 15m
- Density (Aluminum) = 2700 kg/m3
A tetrahedron mesh is applied, using a mesh size of 50mm and an absolute sag of 15mm:
